Once a member of the influential left-field group AMPON, Skarm has been an MC since the
early-mid 2000s when Philippine rap began transitioning into less-familiar territory. Now
considered one of the best in the country, he is armed with an unorthodox flow that
evolved from the blend of abstract concept and street poetry. His style is both slick and
Skarm has produced and released a huge volume of work under his brand-new independent
production outfit The Pharm, including the much- vaunted solo album Introubled Waters EP
and the label’s 2012 collaborative release Pharmer’s Guide to Higher Ground which was
cited as one of Pulp Magazine’s favorite OPM albums of 2012, following the group’s highly
acclaimed performance at the Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival in the same year.
